The Vitals of a Website: Social Media Integration

by EditMe Websites

Social media is a massive resource for anyone to use in marketing their company and reaching a wider audience. Engaging with followers in a unique way, allows for a consistent flow to the website and drives up traffic.

On its own, a website can be used to promote a company, individual or brand. We have spoken in previous blog posts about how a website can be built into an optimal marketing instrument. However, it cannot stand on its own as there needs to be other elements linked to it. One of these is social media integration.

Social media is a massive resource for anyone to use in marketing their company and reaching a wider audience. Engaging with followers in a unique way, allows for a consistent flow to the website and drives up traffic. What many forget is that social media integration is a two way street. A website must send users to your social media channels in the same way that the channels lead individuals to the website. In order to do this there must be social social media integration.

Ways to integrate social media.

Implement visible social media buttons

Having clear and present social media buttons at the top, bottom or side of your website shows users the platforms that you exist on and provides them with an impetus to take the next step and travel to your pages. Remember, you don’t need to link to all your pages. There is no reason to drive a person to a channel that is not actively being managed.

Include share buttons

Allowing users to share your website pages/posts with their own friends and followers allows for an even further marketing reach. These buttons are especially effective on eCommerce websites where people can share a product that they like or are interested in. Blogs and articles are extremely shareable too, as the rich content you post is information that should be read by as many people as possible.

Use Google Analytics

We spoke about the vital importance of Google Analytics in a recent blog post, so it should come as no surprise to see it mentioned here. Using Analytics allows you to gain deeply significant insights into how many individuals are using your social media links and who they are. Finding out that very few users are clicking the icons can allow you to perform an action such as change their position, and make sure that the social media integration works.

At EditMe Websites, we make sure that every website we build comes with all the elements mentioned above, and so much more. Contact us today and start to market your company in an effective and successful way.
